A primary school in the Gambia, Brusubi is gaining national popularity because it shares the same name as the killer coronavirus.
Established by Gambians, Corona Preparatory School (CPS) is the subject of many jokes these days on social media.
One Omar Saho wrote on Facebook: “Corona School is already in the country, so let’s pray for the virus not to enter.”
One of his friends, Sheriff Hydara commented: “Let’s pray bro. The students should be warned about that school.”
Omar disclosed one of his siblings is attending CPS, where they offer a vibrant climate for learning which challenges and supports the children to achieve their best.
However, Facebook user, Oms Wizzle, who lives in Serrekunda, said the school should be renamed.
The coronavirus (Covid-19) is a respiratory virus that originated in China. More than 89,000 people are known to be infected and more than 3,000 deaths have been recorded.
