Mr. Karamo Saidykhan is one of those amazing artists whose work should be recognized worldwide. In addition to his amazing all sorts of creative items made with traditional African batik techniques, Mr. Saidykhan is a great teacher and he is always interested in sharing his knowledge to future generations, visitors and artist from all over the world.

Mr. Saidykhan was born in KaniKunda in the lower river region of The Gambia about 150km from the capital Banjul. Now he is based in Bakau. He learned the technique of batik from a local artist and has been a professional batik artist for some years now.

When you are in The Gambia, you can visit his shop in Bakau (Katchically Crocodile pool) and purchase all sort of items. He also offers workshops and teaches Batik to visitors. You will enjoy a fun filled day learning the traditional techniques used in The Gambia to create colorful and stylish hand dyed fabric.

It is an awesome idea to take home a souvenir of your visit by creating your own fabric art. He has years of experiences and many visitors of The Gambia have joined his workshops. And they have all returned home with a unique experience, meaningful memories, and amazing souvenir.
